Just wanted everyone in Tellico that a black bear was sited on Dudala Way on May 21 from 2:30 AM to  6 AM. Both the Loudon Co. police and Tennesse Wildlife agent was called in. The bear destroyed bird feeders and humming bird feeder plus a bluebird house. The Tennesse Wildlife agent is planning to set a humane trap and catch the bear for relocation. He has already done a lot of damage in Rarity Bay. HThe TW agent suggested that villagers should take down their bird feeders as the bear is partial to them.   Smiley

TWRA officials have confirmed that the bear was caught around midnight on Friday. Trainers received word that the bear was about a mile down the road from his first spotting, so they moved the trap.
The bear is currently in a holding area. He will be relocated tomorrow morning to Cherokee National Forest. TWRA officers said the bear was very docile
